“Moms for Mental Health was started to put an army of moms to work on one problem: mental health issues in children and teens.”
Linda Weiksnar, founder, Moms for Mental Health
Established in 1996, Tykes & Teens has helped more than 20,000 local children and adolescents overcome a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, sexual abuse, domestic violence and substance abuse.
Our mission is to support and strengthen our community through quality prevention, education and social-emotional healing services for children and their families.
Children receive the same high quality mental health services regardless of financial background, and funding from a variety of sources helps ensure that we can provide services on a siding scale starting at only $3.00 per session.
Our partnership with the Martin County School District allows us to provide on site counseling at 13 schools, and an alcohol and drug prevention curriculum in all Martin County middle schools via our Prevention Department and funded by the Children’s Services Council of Martin County.
Our comprehensive Prevention programming also includes free educational community events and seminars for youth and parents on topics including bullying, teen suicide, and navigating the middle school years.
